Stokes Tablet Press Clutch Adjustment – Tech Tip

Stokes Tablet Press Clutch Adjustment – Tech Tip

Transcription:

This is Mike Tousey Techceuticals covering a stokes tablet press twin disc clutch adjustment. Its pretty straightforward. I’m on the back of the machine on a tablet press,, on the fly-wheel side opposite of the hand wheel. What we’re looking at right now is trying to focus on the pin that I’m pointing to here with my screwdriver. And what we want to do with that pin is take that pin and slide it out and up or down. It’s spring loaded and that takes that pin and disengages it. What it’s connecting to is the plate behind it, the pin goes into that plate and locks it into place. So, to adjust it, is to simply to move a slight amount, make a movement up or down to loosen it, go up or right to left. To make it tighter, we;ll go down just little bit. I’m going to turn the hand wheel so you can see it better here. So, now all I have to do is reengage that pin. Now, notice that it doesn’t go all the way in. To get it to go all the way in all you have to do is move your adjustment just a touch, right there, it slides into the plate and I just adjusted it one or two clicks and that’s a significant amount so do just a little bit at a time. Make sure the clutch handle feels like it gets tight and then goes over like a speed bump. It will get tight for one second and then goes into a loose position. And that is the feeling you want. You don’t want a clutch that’s going to be hard to push in, it’s going to be a little bit tight and then it goes into a loose position and when you disengage it, the same way in reverse.

Integrated Learning System

Integrated Learning System

Welcome everyone to 2010 and Happy New Year! We had a great year last year and a great deal of new and exciting things that have us all very pumped! Our new Integrated Learning System is so exciting I can’t wait to tell everyone about it. It takes our work in manufacturing training and puts into everyones facility. Anyone can access a specific unit operation, review an SOP, provides Theory and even can be used test operator knowledge. The approach is simple; we can provide a touch screen kiosk that can be used in a training room or right on the production floor. We can incorporate your processes, equipment, batch records, and all procedures into this system. The ILS (Integrated Learning System) is interactive and can be easily updated with new procedures, testing, and improvements without costing an arm and a leg. We will be posting more information on our website in the next few weeks…please stay tuned.

Certified?

Certified?

Certified? We have had several customers ask recently about the new Dietary Supplement GMP’s, and one of the most misleading rumors has been that companies need to be certified or have some kind of “FDA certification”. This is simply not true. The FDA does not, and will not come to your facility and certify that you are compliant. They will inspect your facility and evaluate your level of compliance to the official GMP regulations.

To add to the confusion, there are several companies that do provide “certification”, like NSF. The FDA has not provided approval for NSF to go to companies and certify them…they simply do not do that. Just because you are certified by a company like NSF does not mean you will be compliant with current FDA GMP’s. It only means you are certifying that you have met the NSF requirements, which has turned into a marketing tool. Just look at the ads and company’s propaganda and see how many say they are NSF GMP Certified. I’m not saying that NSF, or other companies that provide “certification” are not providing a good service, they are! I’m simply trying to make it clear that being certified by anyone does not mean a company will meet the FDA’s GMP regulatory requirements and suddenly become compliant.

Our goal has been, and continues to be, helping manufacturers understand what it means to become FDA compliant and remove the confusion. Our “GAP” analysis is the best place to start and this is something we can help you with. A GAP analysis simply establishes where a company is now, and where they need to be. We help to develop on-going strategies to meet or exceed cGMP’s. The little “c” in “cGMP’s” stands for “current”, meaning that companies cannot just complete a few tasks and thus, they have arrived and can be certified; no such thing. A company must develop an on-going philosophy of continuous quality improvement.

So what do you need to do? In 2 ½ hours you can get a much better grip on it by listening to our session on Dietary Supplement GMPs 101 – New Ruling at https://techceuticals.webex.com. Then call us and find out what a GAP Analysis audit can do for your company.
