Pharma Test manufactures physical testing instruments for solid dosage forms, including dissolution, disintegration, hardness, and friability testing. Founded in 1979 and based in Hainburg, Germany, its instruments are used in QC laboratories and development groups to generate the release data that solid dose products are judged on.

Pharma Test PTB-502 Tablet Hardness Tester
The Pharma Test PTB-502 in the Techceuticals lab measures tablet breaking force during
tableting, granulation, and development classes. Trainees learn to test correctly and, more
usefully, to interpret what they find: how compression force maps to hardness, where hardness
and friability disagree, and why a tablet that passes hardness can still fail in a coating pan.
Having two hardness platforms in the lab also lets trainees see that instrument choice affects
the number.
